For Tennessee football, the last 18 months have been a roller coaster ride.

High expectations to begin the 2017 season were met with bitter disappointment after another close loss to Florida and a blowout defeat against Georgia. Tennessee went winless in the SEC last season, and that led to the firing a coach Butch Jones and then perhaps the most ridiculous coaching search in the history of sports.

The start of this season was rough as well for the Volunteers, but the program has begun trending upwards just in time to give the senior class a proper send off.

This video from the Tennessee football Twitter account should help do that too:

Tennessee will host Missouri at 12 pm ET on Saturday for senior day. The Volunteers will cap off the 2018 season across the state at Vanderbilt the following week.

But with how well Tennessee has been playing lately, the season might not end in Nashville on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The Volunteers have won their last two games and sit at 5-5 entering Week 11. Should they win one of their last two games, the Volunteers will likely go bowling in December.

It won’t be to a major bowl, but just earning the right to practice a month longer would be huge for the Tennessee program in its first season under coach Jeremy Pruitt.
