While the Tennessee Volunteers didn’t exactly shine on the football field Saturday afternoon, it did garner some success off of the gridiron.

2018 prospect Bryson Richardson announced his commitment to Butch Jones and the Vols on Saturday evening via his Twitter account.

A 3-star safety out of Georgia, Richardson chose UT over offers from Vanderbilt, NC State, Louisville, West Virginia, and Wake Forest, among others.

Richardson is a rangy player with good versatility. He has the ability to play either safety spot — as well as on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver.

He became the third public commitment for Tennessee in the ’18 class.
