Before he arrives on Rocky Top, Savion Williams is finally getting the respect many Tennessee fans believed he deserved his entire recruitment.

In the latest individual prospect rankings for the 2019 recruiting cycle from 247Sports Composite, Williams has risen 100 spots up to No. 376 overall. That elevates the Maryland native into the highest-rated junior college defensive tackle and a four-star prospect.

Now the No. 1-ranked junior college defensive tackle in the nation, Williams will be counted on to contribute immediately in Knoxville next fall as Tennessee has lost all three starting defensive linemen from last season to graduation.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound former Lackawanna Community College player will arrive in Knoxville this summer after signing with Jeremy Pruitt’s program during the early signing period. He signed with Tennessee over a scholarship offer from Georgia.
