Tennessee F Grant Williams is the back-to-back SEC Player of the Year — a feat that hadn’t been accomplished since Arkansas’s Corliss Williamson in the mid-90s.

Now, Williams is off to the NBA, and he is heading into the pro ranks as a first-round pick after being chosen No. 22 overall during the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday night in Brooklyn.

Williams was chosen by the Boston Celtics with the third of their three first-round selections, joining Indiana’s Romeo Langford (No. 14 overall) and Washington’s Matisse Thybulle (No. 20).

Williams isn’t the biggest post player, but he showed during his time at Tennessee that he knows how to use his body and understands the game at a high level.

He’ll join a talented Boston squad that is in need of some post help, so we’ll see what he can make of himself as a rookie.
