Tennessee turns off 'Third Down for What'
Somewhere, Lil’ Jon is feeling a little bit less crunk today.
That’s because Tennessee head coach Butch Jones announced that his team will no longer lose its remixed version of the rapper’s song “Turn Down for What” on defensive third downs.
Butch says Third Down for What is dead. Vols will have a mix of songs.

The Vols edited the Atlanta native’s track to have the lyrics “third down for what” play during opposing team’s third down possessions. The team even extended the olive branch to have Lil’ Jon appear at games and on the jumbotron at Neyland Stadium.

In fairness, Tennessee did have the lowest opponent third conversion rate in the SEC last season and was second in 2014, when the team began playing the song. However, the Vols were much worse at home, ranking fifth in 2015 and 10th in 2014.
