In desperate need of playmakers, Jeremy Pruitt and company are currently aiming very high when it comes to recruiting the program’s next great wideout.

Tennessee reportedly hosted the No. 1 receiver prospect in the nation this weekend as Ellenwood, Geo., native Jadon Haselwood took in a trip to Rocky Top leading up to the early signing period. If you are unaware, the early signing period arrives Wednesday, Dec., 19 and ends Friday, Dec. 21. Haselwood was previously committed to Georgia but has since backed off that pledge.

The 6-foot-2, 196-pound Haselwood is rated as the No. 6 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 1 receiver according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He would be Tennessee’s highest-ranked signee of the 2019 recruiting cycle if he joined the class.

If his visit to Knoxville was an unofficial visit, that would indicate he paid his own way to campus and could return on an official visit before the early signing period. Two trips in as many weeks leading up to the signing period would indicate his interest in Tennessee is serious.

If playing time is something Haselwood covets, there may not be a better option in the nation to work with an elite staff than with Tennessee.
