When looking at the defensive line group at Tennessee, there’s a ton of talent.

The likes of Shy Tuttle, Kahlil McKenzie, Jonathan Kongbo, Alexis Johnson, and Kyle Phillips will all be back in 2017. However, the aforementioned quintet mostly all play inside.

Derek Barnett left for the NFL, and the duo of LaTroy Lewis and Corey Vereen graduated. As such, the end positions are a bit thin.

Wanting to address this via recruiting, head coach Butch Jones has made 2017 prospect Elijah Conliffe a big target.

Conliffe visited Tennessee this past weekend, and appeared very impressed:

The 4-star out of Virginia has UT amongst his favorites. He’ll officially visit Florida this upcoming weekend, and has also tripped to Penn State.

At this point, it appears as if Conliffe’s recruitment will come down to the Volunteers and the Gators. He’s a very gifted prospect — possessing a large wingspan, good short-area quickness, and position versatility.
