Tennessee is celebrating a big recruiting win over Alabama and one of the Vols’ assistant coaches sent a tweet that showed how much he enjoyed the news.

Brian Niedermeyer, Tennessee’s tight ends coach, tweeted, “Sometimes you make the right decision the second time around.”

Without naming him, Niedermeyer was no doubt referring to new Vols commit Jordan Davis of Memphis, Tennessee, who committed to the Vols after he signed with Alabama in December. Davis decommitted and then recommitted to the Crimson Tide before he made his latest decision for Tennessee this week.

Jordan Davis signed with Alabama in December, but has since played at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He will be a member of the 2020 signing class. Along with the Vols and Crimson Tide, he also had an offer from Mississippi State.

The 6-foot-5, 249-pound Davis is expected to graduate in December 2019, and he plans to enroll at Tennessee in January 2020. He expects to have three years to play his final two years of eligibility for the Vols.

He is the third commit for Tennessee in the 2020 class, which is ranked No. 9 in the SEC and No. 31 in the country.
