It’s not often you hear SEC coordinators mentioned as potential head coaching candidates in the Colonial Athletic Association Conference but that is being discussed as the 2016 regular season comes to a close.

As hard as that may be to believe, it’s true, as both Tennessee coordinators are being speculated as possible candidates for the head coaching position at the University of Delaware.

According to Kevin Tresolini of The News Journal, Delaware AD Chrissi Rawak has narrowed her list down to ‘about six’ candidates to fill the open job at the school. Rawak would not specify any of her candidates but Tresolini names both Mike DeBord and Bob Shoop as possible names to watch in his story.

Rawak apparently has ties to DeBord from their time at Michigan while Shoop is familiar with the league, having spent time as a defensive coordinator at two CAA schools in the past – William & Mary and Villanova.

The Delaware AD claims over 100 candidates have applied for the position since it came open on Oct. 16. Is it possible DeBord or Shoop were among the many to express interest in the job? We’ll find out soon enough if either Tennessee assistant ultimately lands the job.
