Despite reports claiming otherwise, Tennessee coach Butch Jones said his team has not decided to unveil its alternate Smokey Gray uniforms when they host Florida on Oct. 4. In an interview with Jimmy Hyams on the Sports Animal WNML radio station in Knoxville, Jones talked about a variety of topics including the rumored Smokey Gray uniforms and when they might be debuted in 2014.

“No decisions have been made. All of our focus is on Georgia. I can tell you, it will not be in the Florida game. We will see where it goes right now. I love our traditions that we have with our uniforms and everything that it symbolizes with the past with great tradition, but also the future. But, right now, it will not be the Florida game and will continue to look into future games, I assure you Florida will not be that game.”

Tennessee added a smokey gray alternate uniform to its palette prior to the 2013 season. The Vols wore the uniforms in home games against Georgia and Vanderbilt last season.
