The Tennessee Volunteers are in a tough spot right now after losing to the Florida Gators at the last second on Saturday afternoon.

With rumors swirling about coach Butch Jones’s job security, those rumors are reaching the players, too.

On Monday, WR Marquez Callaway spoke with media members and said he understands that the fans are upset, adding that the team is upset with its performance too:

“We know our staff and our team is one whole,” he said. “We know the fans, they’re always going to love us and I know they’re upset just like we’re upset.”

Callaway continued his solid play this season, catching three passes for 46 yards in the heartbreaking loss.

He’ll need to play an even bigger role moving forward, though, as he and RB John Kelly are the stars of the offense.

The Vols have a chance to get their season back on track this weekend when they host UMass. The game starts at noon Eastern time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
