Vanderbilt CB Tre Bell is moving on to a new opportunity.

According to a report from The Tennessean’s Adam Sparks, Commodores coach Derek Mason confirmed on Saturday that Bell would be transferring to UConn:

Bell, who was at one time a Florida commitment, was recruited to Vanderbilt by former coach James Franklin.

He redshirted during Franklin’s final season in 2013, and earned a starting job out of fall camp during Mason’s first season in 2014.

Bell slipped out of favor early in the 2014 season and never recovered on the depth chart, serving as a reserve for much of his 22 games with the Commodores.
