Vanderbilt’s season is off to a bumpy start and has some calling for coach Derek Mason’s firing, but that doesn’t mean the Commodores’ program doesn’t have anything going for it.

The pair of former Vanderbilt stars will go at it when Philadelphia and Chicago clash on Monday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET tonight. Jay Cutler is in his eighth season quarterbacking the Bears, while Matthews is still searching for a breakout year in his third go-round with the Eagles.

Sure, Cutler (2002-2005) and Matthews (2010-2013) played in Nashville under different coaching regimes, but their NFL success is still something in which Vanderbilt fans can take pride.
