Vanderbilt released its projected depth chart for Saturday’s game against South Carolina on Tuesday. Despite coach Derek Mason’s intention to use two quarterbacks, sophomore Patton Robinette’s listed as the starter ahead of true freshman Wade Freebeck, whose redshirt was burned last week against UMass.

The Commodores have played four quarterbacks this season — Robinette, Freebeck, Johnny McCrary and Stephen Rivers — and all have turned it over except Robinette who owns a completion percentage of 70.4.

NOTES

  • Though junior Jerron Seymour is back for his second game after returning from an injury, true freshman Ralph Webb remains the starting running back with 281 rushing yards this season. Seymour scored 14 touchdowns as a sophomore but appears to have lost his spot to Webb.
  • Six defensive starters in Vanderbilt’s base 3-4 are underclassmen in addition to nickelback Ryan White, a redshirt freshman.
