Off to a 1-2 start, Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason is hoping that identifying permanent captains will give the Commodores the boost they need. Mason said Tuesday that RB Ralph Webb and S Ryan White will be the team’s captains for the rest of the season.

Webb currently leads all SEC ball-carriers with 377 yards on the ground coming on 67 carries, an average of 5.6 yards per carry. White has recorded 18 total tackles in three games along with a pass breakup.

Vanderbilt faces Western Kentucky on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
