Vanderbilt’s stingy defense should be an advantage Saturday against a Texas A&M offense that hasn’t been in sync with freshman Kyler Murray at quarterback.

Texas A&M’s offense played well against Western Carolina last Saturday, racking up 538 total yards of offense, but made three turnovers, gave up two sacks and sputtered at times. This bodes well for Vanderbilt, which has one of the best defenses in the SEC.

Throughout the season, the Commodores have leaned on their highly touted defense, which  came through against Kentucky on Saturday, forcing three turnovers that led to 14 points in a 21-17 win.

Texas A&M’s other major weakness is its run defense — the Aggies allow more than 210 rushing yards per game. Expect Vanderbilt RB Ralph Webb to take advantage of that. The sophomore is averaging 107.3 yards in his last four games.

TEXAS A&M AGGIES: A CLOSER LOOK

Best offensive player: WR Christian Kirk — The freshman leads Texas A&M’s offensive attack with 63 receptions, 828 yards and six TDs for the season.

Best defensive player: DE Myles Garrett —  The sophomore is arguably the best defensive end in the SEC, accounting for 10.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss.

Signal Caller: QB Kyler Murray: The freshman dual-threat quarterback has thrown for five TDs, but has also thrown five interceptions in his past two starts.
