Vanderbilt tight end Steven Scheu has been chosen to play in the 91st East-West Shrine Game in January.

The game will be played on Jan. 23, 2016 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. The NFL Network will broadcast the game.

Scheu has caught 22 passes for 202 yards for the Commodores this year.

Last season, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound Scheu was chosen an All-SEC tight end after catching 39 passes for 525 yards.

Scheu is the second SEC player to accept an invitation to play in the game. Mississippi State cornerback Taveze Calhoun will also compete.

The game is an annual showcase for NFL prospects.

Vanderbilt (4-6) plays Texas A&M (7-3) this Saturday at 7:30 p.m ET in Nashville. The game will be shown on the SEC Network.
