For the first time since 2013, Vanderbilt is the SEC’s regular-season champion on the diamond.

On Friday, the Commodores clinched the outright conference crown with a 12-4 win on the road at Kentucky, improving to 22-7 in conference play on the season. There is still a Saturday series (and season) finale to be played, but with Georgia, Mississippi State and Arkansas all 20-9, the Dores cannot be caught.

Vanderbilt entered the UK series 42-10 (now 44-10) overall on a two-game winning streak (now four) posting a 9-1 mark over its last 10 games. VU wrapped up non-conference play with a 5-2 win over Middle Tennessee on Tuesday and opened the Kentucky series with a 16-10 victory.

The two wins over the Wildcats in the final series of the season brings Vanderbilt’s record to 13-4 against the SEC East. The Commodores can head to Hoover on a high note by ending the season with a sweep. First pitch for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET streaming on SEC Network+.
