The number seven is important to Vanderbilt running back Ralph Webb. The redshirt junior switched over to it from number 26 after his freshman season.

But now it serves as the measurement of his place as Vanderbilt’s all-time leading rusher. Webb currently sits 777 yards shy of breaking Zac Stacy’s record 3,143 set from 2009-’12.

Webb should be able to surpass that total easily in 2016. He already leads the SEC with 308 yards and 154 yards per game, which gives him a career total of 2,367. At that rate, he’d be able to break Stacy’s record in five games.

Webb has already etched his name into Vandy’s school record books. In 2014, he set the freshman rushing record with 907 yards. As a sophomore, he recorded 1,152 yards, which was 41 shy of Stacy’s single-season record of 1,193 set in 2011.
