Derek Mason’s team has battled all year long.

Showing tangible improvement throughout the season, Vanderbilt was hopeful it would garner the opportunity to feature in a bowl game.

Facing off versus in-state rival Tennessee in the season finale, the Commodores needed a victory to ensure that they would go bowling.

On Saturday, Vandy’s offense exploded — accruing 608 total yards in a 45-34 victory.

The team was understandably elated after the contest. Led by Mason, the ‘Dores had a wonderful celebration on the field.

Vandy will be making its first bowl appearance since 2013.
