Chip Kelly to target Georgia’s Todd Grantham for defensive coordinator

According to a report from NBCSports, new Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is targeting Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham for the same position.

Grantham was rumored to be a target even before Kelly was hired, along with Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

Kelly has set his sights on Grantham to join him in Philly.

Grantham has been at Georgia since 2010, after a two-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys where he served as the defensive line coach.

Grantham has 11 years experience in the NFL, coaching at Dallas, Cleveland, Houston and Indianapolis.

  • Whoops, lost my cool there. But seriously, stay away from Grantham.

  • Leave Grantham alone.

  • If he left now, our chances at getting Reuben, Montravius, Toby, and any other defensive player would vanquish (this is not even including the guys we still have to hang onto till NSD). It would surprise me if he left but wouldn’t shock me. He is not the coach in waiting at UGA nor is this even the best job he’s ever had. This is a stepping stone, a resume builder. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure he loves college football and UGA. In my opinion, he’s going to wait at UGA until he has the perfect timing and perfect job hiring into the NFL. I think he’s worked on this defense and recruiting class too hard to skip town less than three weeks away from NSD.

  • This would devastate our recruiting. Don’t do it Todd! Go for Quinn Chip!

  • Quinn gone to Seattle. I think Grantham stays…
