Auburn defensive back Jonathon Mincy arrested for marijuana possession
Auburn senior defensive back Jonathon Mincy was arrested and charged with second-degree marijuana possession on Friday, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Mincy was one of four passengers in a car allegedly going 92 mph in a 65 mph zone, and he was released on $3,000 bond.
“The officer went to the car and smelled marijuana,” Henry County Sheriff William Maddox told The Dothan Eagle. “There were two males and two females in the car and one of the males had shake all over his shirt sitting in the car in the back and there was a bag of marijuana near him. That person happened to be Jonathon Mincy of the Auburn football team.”
Wednesday of this past week, Mincy visited a D.A.R.E. camp put on by Auburn police with over 200 youth. The official Auburn Twitter handle tweeted out the photo.
Mincy made 56 tackles this past season, and he’s an important player in the Tigers’ secondary.
