5 from SEC ranked among college football’s 20 biggest freaks, including the country’s biggest freak

When Bruce Feldman releases his annual freaks list, you know college football is around the corner.

That’s just what Feldman did yesterday, and he ranked the top 20 freaks in the country. Five different players made the ranking, and Auburn receiver Sammy Coates came out as the biggest freak in the country. Coates is coming off a season that saw him average a silly 21.5 yards per catch.

Kentucky’s Bud Dupree ranked No. 5. Dupree plays both end and outside linebacker, and his biggest strength is his speed and anticipation. Georgia’s Todd Gurley ranked No. 7, and when healthy he’s college football’s best overall talent. Missouri’s Shane Ray and Mississippi State’s Benardrick McKinney rounded out the final two for the conference. Ray should have a huge impact on the Tigers’ defensive line, while McKinney could be the best overall linebacker the conference has to offer.
