11 SEC teams will go bowling, according to Phil Steele
College football analyst Phil Steele says 11 SEC teams will reach the postseason in 2014.
Steele has Alabama playing in the College Football Playoff championship game against Florida State and losing. Auburn and Georgia are projected to play in marquee New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day games this year.

Arkansas, Kentucky and Vanderbilt are all projected to total less than six wins and miss bowl games. Steele does have Tennessee reaching the postseason, as the Vols have missed on three straight bowl games.
Here’s a look at Steele’s projections:

Rose Bowl: Alabama vs. Ohio State
Sugar Bowl: Florida State vs. Oklahoma
Orange Bowl: Auburn vs. Marshall
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Georgia vs. Michigan State
Capital One Bowl: Ole Miss vs. Wisconsin
Birmingham Bowl: Tennessee vs. Memphis
Outback Bowl: South Carolina vs. Iowa
Gator Bowl: LSU vs. Michigan
Liberty Bowl: Missouri vs. Air Force
Music City Bowl: Mississippi State vs. Virginia Tech
Belk Bowl: Florida vs. Clemson
Texas Bowl: Texas A&M vs. Texas Tech
Left out: Arkansas, Kentucky and Vanderbilt
