1 SEC team reportedly made a late push for Jalen Hurts
The Jalen Hurts sweepstakes is now officially over. The former Alabama star will head to Oklahoma, where he’ll try to be the third-straight quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy under coach Lincoln Riley.
However, one SEC squad tried its best to convince Hurts to join their team, but ultimately came up short.
According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn was trying to land Hurts as recently as this week before the dual-threat quarterback chose Oklahoma:

The Sooners are losing a lot of talent from this year’s team that lost to Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinals, so Hurts will have his work cut out for him.
However, it should be fun to see him paired with Riley, and we’ll find out how he does as soon as this spring.
