By the time this month is done, Derrick Henry is going to need a very large trophy case.

The Alabama standout running back secured the Walter Camp Award on Thursday, as voted by a group of FBS head coaches and sports information directors.

The award goes to the best player in college football. Recent winners include Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, Florida State QB Jameis Winston, Stanford QB Andrew Luck and Auburn QB Cam Newton.

Henry is 14 rushing yards shy of 2,000 for the season, and also has scored 23 touchdowns. He’s arguably the most important player on an Alabama team that won the SEC championship with a 12-1 record, earning a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Henry also is the favorite to win the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s best running back as well as the Heisman Trophy.
