The Alabama Crimson Tide’s 2020 recruiting class took a hit on Thursday, as one player re-opened his recruitment.

Xavier Hill, a 3-star offensive guard from Mississippi, has apparently backed away from the Tide and will explore other options.

Chad Simmons of Rivals first reported the news on Thursday morning:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Hill is the No. 27 offensive guard in the class of 2020 and the No. 9 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.

Alabama is now down to 22 players in its 2020 class, which currently ranks No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 nationally, per 247Sports.

Hill was also considering schools like Auburn, Tennessee and LSU during his initial recruitment.
