After a convincing 59-0 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, there’s no doubt that Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country.

Even ESPN’s FPI rankings agree, giving the Crimson Tide a sizable advantage over No. 2 Ohio State.

Of course, Alabama has its work cut out for it if it wants to maintain the top spot, as a tough SEC slate of games approaches.

According to ESPN’s FPI rankings, which you can see here, a trio of SEC West opponents should provide the toughest games for the Crimson Tide:

  • Auburn — No. 13
  • Mississippi State — No. 16
  • LSU — No. 20

If you want to extrapolate a little bit, it is looking like Georgia (No. 14) will be the Crimson Tide’s SEC Championship Game opponent.

And, if you want to go even further, Clemson — a very familiar Crimson Tide foe — is sitting at No. 4 in the rankings.
