Alabama baseball basks in walk-off win over Auburn for second time this week
It’s been a really good weekend for the Alabama baseball team, and Jim Jarvis was just the latest reason.
Jarvis crushed a walk-off double to the left-field wall on Saturday as the Crimson Tide prevailed 10-9 over Auburn. It was the second time this week against Auburn that the Crimson Tide left with a winning feeling. On Thursday, Owen Diodati’s RBI single in the 10th helped Alabama prevail, 8-7, at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
With a 1-0 count, Jarvis hit a ball off of the left-field wall, which brought home first baseball Drew Williamson, who led off the side with a single to the right, per Bama Central. After Williamson, Jackson Tate dropped a bunt to put Williamson in scoring position at second.
The win meant Alabama overcame what started as a 5-2 deficit after two innings. Diodati then delivered a two-out, two-run home run in the third to tie the game.
Auburn re-took the lead in the top of the fourth, as it scored three runs to build a 7-4 lead.
The decision lifted Alabama to 22-13 on the season and is 7-8 in SEC play. Auburn fell to 14-18 with the loss and is 2-13 in the conference.
