Many LSU fans weren’t happy when former head coach Nick Saban left Baton Rouge to become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Tiger fans were even less happy when Saban quickly returned to the SEC ranks as the coach of the rival Alabama Crimson Tide.

However, at SEC Media Days on Wednesday, Saban had nothing but kind things to say about his old school, saying he simply felt it was time to move on back in 2005:

Saban didn’t exactly leave the Tigers empty-handed when he left, either, as he was responsible for leading LSU to the 2003 national championship.

It has been a bitter pill for LSU fans to swallow, though, as the Saban-led Crimson Tide have won four national championships since 2009 and will be a favorite to do it again in 2017.

But, with new head coach Ed Orgeron, new offensive coordinator Matt Canada and second-year defensive coordinator Dave Aranda leading the way in Baton Rouge, the future is looking up for LSU as well.
