Leading up to Monday’s national championship game, one can expect that Clemson will be the team with the “chip on its shoulder” storyline, wanting revenge for last year’s 45-40 loss to Alabama.

Crimson Tide DB Minkah Fitzpatrick, however, says UA has a chip on its shoulder – at least the defense. The Tigers out-gained the Crimson Tide 550 yards of offense to 473 yards a year ago. Clemson QB Deshaun Watson had a big night throwing the ball, going 30-of-47 passing for 405 yards, 4 touchdowns and only 1 interception.

Fitzpatrick and his teammates on defense are using that as motivation, saying they want more than just a win.

“We want to dominate them,” Fitzpatrick told reporters Wednesday.

The betting handicappers aren’t expecting domination, but something more like last year’s game. Alabama is currently a 6.5-point favorite according to Vegas Insider.
