On Tuesday, news broke that Alabama LB Terrell Lewis had suffered a torn ACL while training, making it highly unlikely that he’d be able to play in 2018.

According to a statement released by coach Nick Saban, Lewis has already undergone surgery and is starting the recovery process.

On Tuesday afternoon, Lewis tweeted that the surgery went well, thanking fans for the support through this tough time:

Lewis has had some bad injury luck the past couple of years, as an elbow injury kept him out of all but four games last season.

It’s always tough to see players unable to take the field due to injuries, so hopefully Lewis is able to make a full recovery and get ready for the 2019 season.
