As analysts release their preseason rankings and predictions for 2019, Alabama and Clemson sit atop basically all the preseason polls, and it’s a tossup whether Alabama or Clemson is ranked No. 1 to start the season.

FOX Sports college football analyst Tim Brando hopped on the Paul Finebaum Show Thursday to unveil his preseason predictions. Brando thinks the Tide and Tigers will play in the national title game again, and it’ll be a very similar result as last year’s dominant 44-16 win for Clemson.

“Alabama gets there (national title game). They’re going to win every game, including the (SEC Championship Game) matchup against Georgia, and that means Clemson is at the top (at No. 1),” Brando explained. “I don’t see any way you stop Clemson from beating (Alabama) down again. I see a beat-down very similar to the one we saw a year ago.”

So, there you have it. Brando thinks Clemson will roll right over the Tide again in the national championship game, and he’s probably not alone.

Alabama and Clemson both return veteran QBs in Tua Tagovailoa and Trevor Lawrence, and the offense should be spectacular. The Tigers’ defensive line was dominant last year, and folks (including Brando) may be overestimating how big of an impact losing four impact linemen will have on Clemson.

Brando did mention that Michigan would finish ranked No. 3, while Georgia would finish at No. 4. He has Alabama beating UGA in the SEC Championship Game again.
