Alabama just picked up its second commitment of the 2021 recruiting cycle as in-state defensive lineman Anquin Barnes has announced his pledge to join Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide program.

The 6-foot-5, 299-pound Montgomery, Ala., native is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 33 defensive tackle and No. 22 overall prospect from the state of Alabama by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Barnes joins Mobile linebacker Deontae Lawson as the only two prospects committed to Alabama for the 2021 recruiting cycle at this time.

Here’s Barnes commitment statement, which he posted on Twitter:

“First off, I would like to thank my family and coaches and most importantly my teammates, without my team’s help, I wouldn’t be able to have the opportunity to write this speech. This was a school I’ve had my eyes on since I knew about football. Now being able to join the family is the biggest blessing. With that being said, I would like to announce my commitment to the University of Alabama.”
