Bryce Young and the Alabama Crimson Tide beat Georgia to win the SEC Championship Game following the 2021 season. But, in the College Football Playoff championship game rematch, the Bulldogs got the upper hand, winning their first national title since 1980.

So, now that Young is back to lead the Tide into the 2022 season, how do he and his teammates bounce back from that loss?

On Monday, Young said letting go of the loss took some time (via Sports Illustrated):

“It took a little bit,” Young said. “Any time something like a national championship, something you work for doesn’t go your way, it hurts. For me it was trying to transition from just the emotions of the game to anger you feel in yourself.

“You look back and wish you could have had plays back, moments back. You kind of have to snap out of that and then this year it is what it is. You can’t time travel, so what am I going to do to improve to get better so I can learn from those mistakes. It’s really been a process of turning that page.”

Young and the Tide will be favored by many to win the title in 2022. We’ll see if they can rise to the occasion and avenge last year’s loss.
