CFB analyst reveals the reason Oklahoma may have beaten out other suitors for Jalen Hurts
By now you know that Alabama QB Jalen Hurts is heading to Norman to join the Oklahoma Sooners for the 2019 season.
Hurts also reportedly took visits to schools like Miami and Maryland, but he evidently felt that Oklahoma was the best fit for him.
So, why did he choose the Sooners? According to Mike Farrell of Rivals, the chance to beat Alabama in next year’s College Football Playoff was a factor in the decision:
I’m told one of the things Jalen Hurts wanted the most in a transfer school is the chance to play and beat #Bama in the playoff. #Sooners could give him that chance.

The Sooners have made it to the College Football Playoff each of the last two seasons, losing to Georgia in the Rose Bowl last season and falling to Alabama in the Orange Bowl this year.
Can Hurts lead them back to the final four? We’ll find out next fall.
