Chasing Bear Bryant: ESPN's Chris Low thinks Nick Saban could best another of Bryant's records
Between Kentucky, Texas A&M and Alabama, legendary coach Bear Bryant won an incredible 159 SEC games.
Currently, Alabama coach Nick Saban has won 107, meaning he’d likely need to coach about eight more years to best Bryant’s record.
Many don’t think Saban will be around the coaching ranks that long, but ESPN’s Chris Low said he thinks Saban could indeed take that record from Bryant, too:
"I've always thought one of the most unbreakable records in the SEC was Bear Bryant's 159 SEC regular season wins. Saban has 107…I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he would coach 7 or 8 more years & have a chance to break that record" @ClowESPN pic.twitter.com/qGRnxP3LRZ

It’ll be interesting to see if the SEC implements a nine-game conference schedule in the near future, as that would help Saban’s quest. For now, though, SEC teams only play eight conference games, so he’ll have to take care of business for nearly another decade to make history.
One thing we’ve learned over the years is to never count Saban out, though, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see the living legend break yet another record.
