Bryce Young is having a special season. And among the best parts of it for Alabama is the fact that the quarterback is only a sophomore and will be back again next year.

However, if Young was eligible to leave the Crimson Tide and enter the 2022 NFL Draft, Colin Cowherd believes no team would pass over the talented QB.

“The kid is special,” Cowherd said on “The Herd” on Tuesday. “He would be the No. 1 pick in the draft today. No question.”

Fortunately for Alabama, that’s not going to happen, at least not until 2023. If Young continues to play the way he has been, then has another season as a junior, it’s hard to imagine he won’t be the top prospect in his class when the 2023 NFL Draft gets closer.

Young has thrown for 4,322 yards, 43 touchdowns and 4 interceptions while leading the Crimson Tide to the SEC championship and the top seed in the College Football Playoff. He had 1 of his best showings in the conference title game, passing for 421 yards and accounting for 4 total touchdowns against a tough Georgia defense.

Young is among the 4 finalists for the Heisman Trophy, and he’s the clear front-runner for the award.

Cowherd shared a ton of praise for Young on Tuesday, even breaking down how the Alabama QB is similar to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers:
