Tua Tagovailoa suffered another injury Saturday against Mississippi State. However, this one looked worse than an ankle injury.

ESPN reported that Tagovailoa was screaming in pain while being carted off the field with an apparent hip injury. Things don’t look great for the Alabama quarterback.

Following the injury, folks started to question why Tagovailoa was even in the game up 35-7 and nearing halftime. College GameDay analyst David Pollack, one of the biggest voices in college football, questioned Nick Saban and Alabama for the same reason.

Heading into halftime, Nick Saban was asked for his explanation of why the Alabama quarterback was still playing.

“He hurt his hip, I don’t know anything else more than that,” Saban said. “They took him in to look at him. That was going to be his last series, we were going to do two-minute (offense) before the half with him, just for practice. Of course, we got to block them better so he doesn’t get sacked. Too bad.

“We were going to put Mac in but we let Tua in just for practice,” Saban added. “I don’t worry about players getting hurt. Certainly don’t want to see anyone get hurt, especially him.”

Hopefully, Tagovailoa’s injury wasn’t as bad as it looked. Nick Saban will speak to reporters following the game.
