Alabama’s wide receiver pipeline rolls on.

The Denver Broncos selected Tide star Jerry Jeudy with the No. 15 overall pick in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday night. He was selected after teammate Henry Ruggs went to the Las Vegas Raiders with the 12th overall pick.

Alabama has produced a 1st-round pick at WR in 4 of the past 10 drafts. Nobody in the country has exceeded that.

Jeudy was a threat from the moment he arrived.

He spent 3 seasons with the Tide and left ranked 2nd all-time in TD receptions (26) and 4th in receiving yards (2,742).

He recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in his final 2 years. Fellow 1st-rounders Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones didn’t accomplish that.

It remains to be seen whether Jeudy will match their prowess as pros, but his attributes compare favorably.

Like Ridley, he’s an elite route-runner who flourishes in open space.

He won’t win 50-50 deep balls like Jones, but he’s shiftier and has enough speed to beat help defenders.

Jeudy talked throughout the draft process about how critical it was to land with the right team, in a system that fits.

He landed with a Broncos team led by former SEC star QB Drew Lock.
