In the midst of the Tennessee Titans’ upset win over the Baltimore Patriots in an AFC Divisional matchup on Saturday, was a play that holds a special place in SEC history, executed by a former SEC star.

Titans running back Derrick Henry lined up in the wildcat, and found Corey Davis in the end zone to give the Titans a 21-6 lead on a jump pass, and push past the No. 1 seed Ravens to the AFC Championship.

The jump pass cemented itself in SEC lore during the career of former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, who was known for executing the play in big moments. Ironically, Henry’s first experience with the jump pass during his time at Yulee High School in Florida was inspired by Tebow, Henry’s high school coach told Yahoo! Sports.

“It was one of those plays where you have it, you have it, you’ve gotta run it at some point” said Coach Bobby Ramsay.

“Our offensive coordinator made the call. I remember, man, it was a high one” he continued, talking about Henry’s pass, “but he got it in there. Back of the end zone.”

Sound familiar?

Not having attempted the play since his high school days, Henry laughed about it during the postgame presser.

“I’m like, I gotta hit this one” said Henry, “if I don’t get this one it’s gonna be ugly.

“I’m just glad I was able to get that one to Corey and score on that touchdown.”

Not only did he throw for the touchdown that seemed to put the game out of reach for Baltimore, but Henry was punishing on the ground as well, picking up 195 rush yards on 30 carries. The former Alabama Heisman winner finished the regular season as the NFL’s rushing champion, and has now rushed for 377 yards in two playoff games.

Oh, and he’s thrown more touchdown passes than Tom Brady this postseason.
