The Alabama Crimson Tide will enter the 2022 season as No. 1 in nearly every ranking and poll that is released ahead of Week 1.

Nick Saban’s squad will be favored to win every game this year and is expected to make it to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game with a perfect record.

But, the Tide are not a perfect team. There are some flaws that will need to be addressed for them to reach their ultimate goals. In ESPN’s preseason power rankings (which, of course, had Alabama at No. 1), writer Alex Scarborough named the offensive line the biggest question mark for the Tide this fall:

Saban said it himself after the first practice of fall camp: “I don’t think there’s any question about the fact that we need to play better on the offensive line. We need to be more physical up front … and get movement on the run.” Bringing in Steen and getting center Darrian Dalcourt healthy again should help solve last season’s Achilles’ heel. But equally as pivotal might be the change in leadership, with Eric Wolford now coaching the position. His lines at Kentucky were known for being physical and aggressive — areas where Alabama could improve.

Alabama starts the 2022 season at home against Utah State on Saturday, Sept. 3. We’ll see what this year’s offensive line looks like starting then.
