When the Cincinnati Bengals broke camp last week, it gave players their first taste of true freedom for the season. Their plans were varied and ranged from the boring to the truly unique, but the most interesting among them may be the path of former Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick.

Kirkpatrick wants to be a music executive, more specifically rap music, and according to the Cincinnati Inquirer, he plans to put the finishing touches on his label’s first album during the break.

Kirkpatrick’s label, Supa Team Muzik, currently features one artist in the form of his friend J-Ova, who he met while at Alabama.

For the two-time national champion, this project is more than a little fun on the side. He says that he would have pursued a career in music had football not paid off. He wants to see this project out in hopes that it sets up his career after football.

When asked about his style as an executive, Kirkpatrick said “I just vibe out make sure everything is going right, make sure it sound good and be a hard critic. I don’t want to be the best friend critic because the best friend critic don’t make you no money.”
