Alabama landed its 8th commitment Tuesday night in 4-star wide receiver Christian Leary (Orlando, Florida). Leary also became Alabama’s 3rd receiver commitment from the state of Florida, joining 4-stars Jacory Brooks and Agiye Hall.

Leary was Auburn’s and Florida’s top prospect on the board at the position. Most figured Leary would commit to Oklahoma, too, but Alabama won out in the end.

The 4-star receiver is ranked as the nation’s No. 23 overall wide receiver and the state of Florida’s No. 20 overall prospect for the class of 2021, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

“First and foremost, I want to thank the man above for the position he has put me in. I wanna thank my Mom, Dad, Uncle and rest of the family that supported me through it all,” he wrote on social media. “Give a huge thank you to Coach Duke and the Edgewater Coaching Staff for making me a better player on and off the field. … Proud and blessed to say I will be committing to the University of Alabama.”
