Former Alabama DL Wallace Gilberry was released by the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this year and has been unable to find a new team ever since.

Now, after nine professional seasons, the undrafted free agent and ex-Crimson Tide standout is hanging up his cleats.

Gilberry announced that he was retiring from the NFL on Instagram on Saturday, thanking fans and others for their support throughout his career:

Gilberry had 191 total tackles and 34 sacks during his NFL career, which spanned from 2008 to 2016. He played for the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals during that time.

Gilberry was voted onto the coaches’ first-team All-SEC team in 2007 — his final year with the Crimson Tide.
