The Los Angeles Chargers have brought back a familiar name, adding a former Alabama running back to their practice squad.

Derrick Gore, who played at both Alabama and UAB during his college career, is now with the Chargers’ practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.

Gore played in the preseason for the Chargers before he was cut. Now, he’s back and will try to earn a spot on the 53-man roster:

Gore played the 2015 and 2016 seasons with Alabama before transferring to finish his career at UAB in 2017 and 2018.

He ran for 108 yards and 1 touchdown on 24 carries in his Alabama career. He added 1,247 yards and 12 touchdowns in two years at UAB.
