The New York Giants may have lost Monday’s game to the Detroit Lions, but former Alabama safety Landon Collins is trying to win the war of words.

The issue between Collins and Detroit tight end Eric Ebron began after Ebron, who made five catches for 42 yards in the Lions’ 24-10 win, had some choice words for Collins.

After he caught a touchdown, Ebron didn’t have much reaction to celebrate.

“I was pissed off,” Ebron said, according to the Detroit News. “I was pissed off at that little punk of a safety they’ve got over there.”

Collins previously delivered a big hit on Ebron, which fired up the tight end.

“Collins, he played a good game, that hit just pissed me off and I didn’t feel like celebrating,” Ebron said. “I wasn’t in that kind of joyful mood. It was still a good game. He played his butt off trying to guard me. I commend him for that.”

After the touchdown, Ebron and Collins came helmet-to-helmet before they were separated.

“I just told him good hit,” Ebron said with a smile. “He may have said some other things, but it’s cool.”

On Twitter, Collins responded.
