Former Alabama TE Malcolm Faciane was injured in a shooting at a Tuscaloosa bar on Monday night.

According to Stephanie Taylor of Tuscaloosa News, Anatwan Somerville was angered when he was denied entry at High Tide by Faciane, a bouncer at the bar. Taylor reports the issue was either identification or dress code, which led to Somerville engaging in a physical altercation that resulted in shots being fired. Police were called to the bar at 11:50 p.m.

Faciane was shot in his right arm and received treatment at DCH Medical Center.

“I am recovering well, with no issues,” he told Tuscaloosa News. “I am just glad that everyone was able to make it home safely last night. Last night’s events are not a reflection of High Tide or the people who work there.”

Somerville was charged with attempted murder.
