There are some questioning whether or not what has happened with Alabama to this point in the 2022 season is the beginning of the end of its reign of dominance. That may be jumping the gun, but there is no denying how closely it has now played 2 teams it should have blown out and the fact it suffered its first loss to a growing Tennessee team, 52-49 on the road this week.

There’s a need for solutions and suggestions are abound. Former Alabama wide receiver Mike McCoy recently called upon head coach Nick Saban to rehire former Strength and Conditioning coach Scott Cochran because “the sidelines look dead.”

“These people got their money up,” McCoy said in regard to recruiting and how the landscape has changed, via TDAlabamaMag.com.

“It is the wild, wild, west now. A lot of these kids are going to the highest bidder. So now that these school have the same money as you, what are you going to do about it? What are you going to do different? Are you going to revert back to your old ways? You better call Cochran because the sidelines look dead over there to me. Did it not look dead to you?”

It will be interesting to watch which changes Alabama makes moving forward and how the rest of the season pans out, but the focus for now remains on facing Mississippi State next on Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
