The great grandson of legendary former Alabama coach Bear Bryant is looking forward to a future QB competition with fellow Tide commit Taulia Tagovailoa.

Paul Tyson committed to Alabama in April, and he knows that he will have his work cut out for him once he hits campus. The signal caller is ranked as the nation’s No. 12 pro-style QB and the state of Alabama’s No. 12 overall prospect for the class of 2019, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Alongside Tyson, the younger Tagovailoa is ranked as the nation’s No. 7 pro-style QB and the state’s No. 7 prospect, and the two are good friends. No doubt, the Tide have one of the nation’s top-ranked QB classes already, assuming both stick on National Signing Day.

“When it comes to the football field, we are going to compete,” Tyson told AL.com. “I know Taulia would say the same thing. Off the field, though, we are brothers. We roomed together in the Elite 11, so we’ve become good friends. We are super cool. It’s really a fun dynamic.”

Tyson stands nearly 6-foot-5, and he’s got six inches on Tagovailoa. The tall pocket passer threw for 3,392 yards and 36 touchdowns as a junior and 2017, and he should have a standout senior season.

Although Tyson was looking at several schools around the country, it just makes perfect sense he’d commit to Alabama. He’s the ultimate legacy recruit, if you will.
